The Golden Age of Rock ’n’ Roll (Various Artists) (1979): This six-album set called The Golden Age of Rock ’n’ Roll provides another deep dive into early rock and roll music. There aren’t as many songs in this box set as you might expect, since each side has only five songs; thus, there are 60 songs here, just 50% more than on the double-album 41 Original Hits from the Soundtrack of American Graffiti. Scanning the songlist, this collection is a bit more wide-ranging than the American Graffiti album, and I don’t think there are too many songs in common.
