I have a reputation of eating almost anything I suppose, but there have been foods that I couldn’t stomach early in my life. I was probably in junior high school before I started liking carbonated drinks, so I was a real pain in the butt as a kid with my parents having to drive from store to store looking for a Tru-Aid or a Yoo Hoo (I think there was another back then also – Brownie maybe?). I couldn’t stand any kind of greens until I got to college (though I was a huge Popeye fan as a kid); I learned to love broccoli and later spinach, and if they are made right, I love turnip greens and collards also. Today, I had another breakthrough: I ate a full bowl of oatmeal and actually liked it a lot! I have enjoyed other types of hot cereal for decades and have been eating cream of wheat almost every morning for several months; I like Wheatina also and even oat bran, but something about the texture of oatmeal always turned me off. Until today! 🙂
