When I was putting together the initial list of the most recent batch of my LP’s to be cleaned up from the Katrina mud, I had the most amazing sense of déjà vu. There were a couple of Gloria Estefan records, two by the North Carolina band Let’s Active, the Blasters’ excellent Hard Line album (featuring John Doe of X), and several more that seemed like albums that I had just played in the past few months. I even checked to see whether I recently purchased some of them. Then it hit me: These were among the group of albums that I was playing at the time that Hurricane Katrina hit in August 2005. Somehow, nearly 8 years later, my album playlist at that time was locked in my memory banks.
