James Brown – Revolution of the Mind (1972): Subtitled Recorded Live at the Apollo Vol. III, Revolution of the Mind followed the 1968 release of a second live concert at the Apollo in 1967 as Live at the Apollo, Vol. II. This double album documents a more conventional concert there in 1971, in that it concentrated on his recent singles rather than his classic early songs. Not even “Please, Please, Please” is performed, and there is a short medley of three hits on Side 3. Side 2 is mostly devoted to a leisurely introduction of the bandmembers over the song “Make it Funky”. In the spirit of the legendary 1962 concert, “Get up, Get into it, Get Involved” is divided between Sides 3 and 4.
