A shout out to my new hometown of Biloxi, Mississippi! Fifty years ago this week, the City de-segregated the public school system, with no violence – the first one in the state. Also, for close to a decade, the Biloxi area has hosted what was originally known as Black Spring Break and is now just called Spring Break. After some growing pains in the early years, there have been no problems at all (except that this is yet another big event when the locals avoid the coastal highway); there were no more arrests or other trouble this year than in any normal weekend as far as I can tell. How are race relations where my FB friends are living? 🙂

Not so good in Cleveland. It’s pretty sad. But we’re working on it–
