Whatchoo got to say about this, WMWJ ??

Did you see my post earlier on Mr. Reed’s death yesterday? There was a slo-mo alternative rock version of “Sweet Jane” back 20 years ago or so, but I agree that this is the best. I got to see him in concert once, and it was definitely memorable. Probably my favorite album of his is New York; I used to play that one all the time. All my best to you, George; it is always a pleasure to hear from you! 🙂

I pause to note the sad passing of Lou Reed, a one-of-a-kind rock star who was the most visible face of the legendary Velvet Underground. His 1972 smash “Walk on the Wild Side” is one of the freakiest songs ever to hit the U. S. record charts. Lou Reed’s four-decade solo career included numerous remarkable albums; two of my relatively recent favorites are New York (1989) and Ecstasy (2000).
