Favorite son and legendary NFL quarterback Brett Favre, who grew up in the small but growing rural community of Kiln in central Hancock County – typically pronounced “the kill” (with no “n”) – was inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame over the weekend. There was a bit of a backlash here and elsewhere when Brett left the Packers in 2008 to join the New York Jets and then the Minnesota Vikings, but all is forgiven now.
