Today is a banner date for the human race: Albert Einstein presented his field equations for the general theory of relativity 100 years ago today. If a comparable feat has been achieved in any field of science before or since, I sure don’t know what it would be. #AlbertEinstein is still the yardstick by which genius is measured – indeed, his name is basically synonymous with genius – and even though most of us (including myself) don’t entirely understand the theory and all of its implications, much of what we call the modern world can be traced back to this monumental achievement.

Did he ever win a Nobel Prize?

I would have been surprised if he didn’t—
